That's what I done last year to get my first mortgage. My husband had to sign something to say he knew I was taking out a mortgage on our marital home (I bought my dads house that we were already living in). Can't think of anything smart to put here...0

What's the reasoning behind not including her? Your wife will be considered as a dependent if she's not named on the mortgage.0

She runs her own buisness. Only got 6 months of accounts. I earn 50k and house is only 112500.0

Then shouldn't be a problem in joint names. As you can afford the mortgage in your own right.0

My credit rating is alot better too.0

Suspected as much. It's the number one reason for sole applications. Lenders of course are wise to it.0

I'm in a similar situation: my wife (as a EEA spouse) doesn't have yet her indefinite leave to remain. It's due to get it in September but we just got an offer accepted as well.
The lender, Skipton, is being a fussy with the fact that she'll help with some money as a "gift" (like they call it). According to their gift letter the person giving a gift is not supposed to live in the property...
Is this a common thing to do? What could be the reasons behind it? Any suggestions on how we should proceed? (we're doing it through a broked but he seems to be struggling with getting this through ...)
