Check the ingredients list. Most "value" pasta isn't made from 100% durum wheat, but from other, softer, wheat. This is OK, if you like your pasta "overcooked", not OK if you like it "al dente".

Sorry to tag in on a thread but I'm wondering if anyone has noticed any big packs of wholemeal (brown) pasta on their travels? I'm sick of paying £1+ for a small bag :mad:0

All the value pasta i've used say 100% 'durum wheat'.PK! :money:0
