I have managed to lose a few days of my life it seems! I thought I had until next weekend to get a present for a dear friends baby's Christening! But its this Sunday!!!!
I have to say that I havnt been to one for 14 years, and cant think of what to get for a little boy!
Is it acceptable to give an antique silver plated napkin ring? I saw one in a wee shop and it looks very smart.
thanks wik x

I am sure the napkin ring would be suitable but I have always got something I felt they would get some use from - a money box, dinner set, nice set of children's books. I have seen a noah's ark toy given as a christening gift which I thought was a good idea, ELC used to do one, not sure if they still do. Or an illustrated children's bible?0

I think things that will last beyond childhood are nice. One of my sons loves his Noahs ark storybook though. My other son got a silver key ring for when he is older. Money boxes are nice but are quite often given so you can end up with several.0

Maybe parents could give some hints... At list they could give some idea if they like the gifts to be nice and lovely and being a keepsake or to be really useful in present time.0
