ASDA Price Guarantee con

For years I have been diligently checking how much I have saved on the Price Guarantee and I agree that some weeks there is a discount voucher due.
However it was only this week I looked at how ASDA did the 'comparable shop' with other s/markets.
I did a small spend of around £25.00 and ASDA says they are cheaper. Then I looked at the breakdown and they had only compared about £11-12 worth of the shopping. So this guarantee is only saying that part of my shopping is cheaper.
How do 'My Supermarket' compare prices. Do ASDA give them the names of the items they want compared???

I thought they could only compare branded items.0

what I don't understand is that some products all supermarkets sell but they put n/a by them. For example, the other week, I bought some Relentless energy drink cans and one of the flavours I bought said n/a by Sainsburys though I have purchased that flavour before at Sainsburys! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. If you admit to not knowing how it works - how can you possibly describe it as a con ?0
