Wonga have always done exactly what we've agreed when I was in a repayment plan with them..and I was stuck in a Wonga spiral from December 2011 to last month! Feels good to finally get rid of them, if you're anything like me you'll never want to touch credit again!0

Good work. I've been there with payday loans, managed to get out of the spiral by making some big lifestyle changes and I was then fortunate to be able to pay off all the payday debt with my income whilst putting my outgoings on a CC, I'm still paying off my other debts but I am completely free of the spiral of payday loans and I would never ever go there again, I still feel sick when I think of the pickle I was in. I find that horrible sick feeling very motivational if I ever start feeling sorry for myself - I'm in a much better situation than I was this time last year and I use it to remind me why I'm still putting every spare penny towards being debt free.Total debt March 2014: £11,194. Now £4,198.

^ Absolutely agree with this, i've been in tears over my debts before, it's a horrible, panicky, miserable, desperate feeling. Biggest change in outgoings? Quitting smoking! I've saved £760 since December 12th
Now all I have left is my credit card, which i'm going to throw spare money at like no tomorrow, and cut up! (should have done that already).

^ Thanks Lgas. I didn't join this forum expecting sympathy but I love the supportive vibe I've got from other posters. It sounds like we are both in a better place these days and now I'm not ashamed to talk about/deal with debt, I too can throw all my spare money at remaining debt. My CC is now in the freezer in a block of ice (a tip I picked up on this forum) so I won't ever be accessing that in a hurry. A year ago I would have thought that was extreme, now it seems totally logical. Big Well Done on quitting smoking, good news all round.
