Corsages?

Options
Hi all, me again with ANOTHER question!

I have a meeting with the florist tomorrow and need to take in info about what I require. I would like 2 pedestals, 1 hand tie bouquet for me, 4 button holes {OH, his Dad {also his best man}, Usher and my Dad} we have no bridesmaids, only flower girls, so do I need to provide corsages for any females? My Mum is no longer here, but my step Mum is, also OH's Mum is. Are these still done?

Thanks x

Yep, corsages are still done, but they don't have to be the traditional wrist corsages if you don't want. I'm having 'corsages' for my mum, OH's mum, OH's nan, my sister and a couple of others, but I'm having them done as buttonholes rather than to go on the wrist, and the design is slightly fancier than the standard male buttonholes to make them a bit different. I'm having a winter wedding, so I didn't want wrist corsages as I thought they might be a pain with people taking coats off and on all the time. Also, I had a wrist corsage for my sister's wedding and it got wrecked really quickly as I kept bashing it on things!

Of course, they aren't compulsory, but I think if you are having buttonholes for the men it's nice to have something for the women too.
  • Who hands out the flowers? Like the button holes and corsages?

Baskets with petals. We're getting married at the same venue as reception, so will all be delivered together, perhaps I can delegate this to someone to dish them out x

  • I am doing button holes for all the adults in suits so Groomy, Best Man, FOTB, 3 x Ushers, my witness and his brothers...

Corsages with magnets (so they don't pull dresses) as I agree, wrist corsages are too delicate for MOTB, GMOTB and his witness

Bridesmaid will have a simple bouquet of Gypsophillia, Flower Girls will have mini Gypsophillia bouquets... I will have a big one full of multiple flowers... We are having a church wedding so having every other pew with flowers for the first 6 rows and we have bought 2 bay trees to have at the front of the churchs, they will then get moved to the entrance of the marquee.. I have bird cage table centres and the flower arrangements on the inside will be made to 'take away' these will then become gifts for one lucky lady on each table to take away.. I am thinking about doing a mini bouquet to do a 'toss' with at the end of the evening as very selfishly, I want to keep mine!

I'm getting married at the same venue as my reception too, so I'm going to dish out the ladies corsages myself as my mum and OH's mum will no doubt come up to see me getting ready, and then I will give all the male ones to one of the ushers to sort out (or maybe my dad, as he'll be hanging around doing nothing before the ceremony!)
  • We're getting married at the same venue as the ceremony same room etc :) I'm collecting the flowers the day before so will label them and put them somewhere cold then get people to collect them.

We haven't bothered with corsages. Buttonholes for the men and posies for the bridesmaids. My Mum didn't want one anyway.
Since starting again after beanie: June 2016: Child development DVDs, Massive Attack tickets. July: Aberystwyth trip, hotmilk nightie. Aug: £10 Hipp Organic vouchers, powerpack. September: Sunglasses. October: £30 poundland vouchers.
  • Well I asked my step mum and oh's mum and they both said they would like one that attaches to their dress, so that answers that question! I won't order anymore.
