Settled finance

Hi all, I have recently settled my car finance and sold the vehicle on. I'm now wanting to apply for a bank loan approx £6000 for a new car. The car finance agreement is still showing on my equifax credit file as active with 16000 being owed. Is there a way to speed up or to get this shown as settled? As my bank confirmed they use equifax for credit checks and I'm scared to apply because I'll no doubt get declined with that debt still showing. Meanwhile I've no car.

It should be updated with the next monthly update your finance company make to the credit reference agencies. You should be able to see the date of the last update, and it will be roughly a month after that.

No way to speed this up.
