just over 6 years ago I was declared bankrupt, not my fault but my then husband. I lost my house and returned to live with my parents with a small child for 3 years. I stoically read and digested everything that MSE website suggested I do. I got my self a pre paid credit card and used that for 6 years. If I didnt have the cash I simply could not buy it. I shopped in charity shops and got some stunnin outfits. I saved coupons for absolutely everything. I even got WH Smith to pay me for shopping there because of the use of the coupons all in one go!!!iI am completely clear of bankruptcy now and have just managed to get a credit card. Looking at my credit score it is 918 (better than most of my friends) I have been successful in getting a mortgage with an interest rate of 1.85%.
