I want to get a load of clip lock jars (like the kilner ones) as both The Boss and I really like them anyway, so would use them for storage in our new house after we are married.
I'm also going to be totally selfish and not have any chocolate sweets (I'm allergic - so I couldn't have any) I think it will give it a cool childish vibe though (our reception is at a play park, and we're having a bouncy castle, (and if there's room in the budget a face painter))Officially saved enough to cover the cost of our wedding! :A0 -
Hey, we are planning on doing this, I have been picking up jars & bowls from charity shops / home bargains & places like that.
I am at a loss for quantity of sweets needed though... I don't want to end up running out!
Not chosen all of the sweets yet but we are thinking rings / hearts / milk bottles / fried eggs (or maybe just a haribo mix, but they are our favorite ones!) / flumps / jelly babies / white mice. I think we are going to go to a big old fashioned sweet shop & have an enjoyable afternoon deciding :-)
I am going to make a tree also, there are how to guides on you tube - should save a bit more money & hopefully be fun to do!0 -

Ah man, I love all them sweets :rotfl:
We aren't having a sweet table but I did buy little favour boxes that I was going to fill to the brim with sweets. That way a) big kids will eat the sweets right away b) mummies and daddies can take their boxes home to kiddies and c) any actually children there may like them!!
Hoping to keep the cost under €50, boxes cost €20, which I don't mind as I'm not going to use them all so hopefully I can sell on what I don't need and everyone loves penny sweets!!094 Sealed pot member! (7) €185 (8) €138 (9) €€250

We did a candy table for both of my girls wedding and the adults loved it as much as the children. We have a large family and lots of friends who we have been close to for over 40 years. At one wedding we had 200+ guests and they wanted an informal reception. We had a diy sandwich bar with baskets of bread then cold meats jam chocolate spread salad etc. this was a huge success. Then we had various tables of food, cupcakes and muffins. Creamy desserts, a serve yourself fresh fruit area with Greek yoghurt honey and granola, another big success. Then THE sweet table. It was all fantastic and we had so many people thank us and said it was the most fun they had at a wedding.Nothing Changes if Nothing Changes0

Hi everyone. We aren't doing a sweetie table, but are using sweets as our favours. If anyone is interested in mini love heart rolls, there is a seller on Amazon who is selling 3kg bags for £2.90 (was over £18 when I added it to my wish list!) I don't know if it's a mistake or if the dates are really short, but decided it was worth a try at that price! HTH xxx0
