Can anyone tell me what The Skipton are like to deal with at the moment?
We are looking to remortgage and raise additional funds for an extension and their rates seem very good.
Thanks.

I use them a fair bit.
Decent underwriters, tends to be a common sense approach in the main - when its not i have a whinge to my account manager and he sorts it.
Currently a 4 day turn around time from application to underwriting (its usually around 2-3 days). 4 days isnt too bad though.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Thanks ACG, what are they like with valuations?
We had the house valued by 3 estate agents recently and the valuations came in with a spread of 25k.0 -
Its not them who value it, they outsource it to Connells who then potentially outsource it to a local surveyor.
I have done around 5 in the last 3-4 months with them and not one has come back down valued.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Hi, the buyers of my house have applied for a Skipton Mortgage. The application went in on the 14th February - I still haven't heard anything (nor has the EA) about a valuation. Does this seem normal to you?
Many Thanks0 -
I submitted an application to them on the 18th and the Valuation was instructed on Monday.
However i use Skipton a lot, i know what they are going to ask for and i check with my BDM what other things they may need if there is anything out of the ordinary so the underwriter has it all there ready and waiting. It may be the underwriter has looked at something and asked for further evidence and thats what is holding it up - nothing to worry about though as that does happen. If they were going to decline it they would decline it and not ask for more paperwork.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. I'm currently going through the application process with Skipton for me and my OH and we're hoping to get a valuation done next week, I'm keeping everything crossed especially as we'd like a quick purchase.
We've been dealing with them through our MA and they seem to be efficient.0
