I think we've been "over cooked" by cookery show's. So here's a game to play: Write down the following phrases, and add your own. Watch the show, and when you hear the phrase below, tick it off!
1. You'll never buy from the shop after you've tasted this.
2. It's a really cheap cut (try looking at sausages, they are dearer than buying a shoulder of pork!
3. Your butcher will gladly mince it in front of you at no extra cost????
4. I'll use 2 - 3 chillis, as I like it hot (what about your guests??)
5. One of the cheapest cuts (sorry, what colour is the sun on your planet?)
I have done a tiny survey about these "Cheap" cuts. Brisket, Belly Porks, Breast of Lamb, Beef Cheeks etc, they ALL come in at really high prices. The cheap meat day is over.
And if I hear one more wine "expert" bumping their gums over: a hint of hay, mixed with a taste of autumn, mixed with sunshine ....
and it's only £10 a bottle ... wine is for drinking!
