I've had loads of cars since passing my test

    How and why?

The driving test age is 17 and you say that you are 18.

I work for a global outsourcing IT company as an application consultant. I was hired straight from school and have worked here for 2 1/2 years. Besides this I also own 2 companies, a small IT firm which specialises in website design and I also own a self-storage facility.

As the next Richard Branson/Alan Sugar/Donald Trump surely you must have an idea of how to raise this much needed finance after all of the high level board meetings and discussions that you have had with your various business banking advisors.

Can your Financial Director not point you in the right direction....?

Is all your Salary being consumed by your two other businesses?

I have learnt my lesson, never to buy a second hand car on finance again no matter how good it looks!

I know this is nothing to do with me, but by the time I was 18 I'd owned seven cars. I passed my test in the September after my 17th birthday in July.

How? I bought them, outright each time.

Why? Because I had loads of money at the time (my own, not borrowed) and so I could.

So although it may well sound like fantasy (especially bearing in mind other posts) it is entirely possible that it's true.
  • I thought this was a wind up so I decided to check him out and it's amazing how easy it is to get so much detail about someone from google!
Yes he is only 18, (19 next Monday) and is a director of two companies as he has described above.
He hasn't got a very good memory though, he was given advice about taking £1500 from one of his Ltd companies on the UK Business Forum back in September 2013.

It's nice to see someone do their research rather than jumping to an assumption, thanks for proving a point to the people that will do just that. Yes it was my birthday on Monday and I had a great day :rotfl:. And again I'll be honest it just didn't click to borrow some money from one of my companies, which is what I commenced to do and I am now sorted.

And again, this is actually my seventh car too although most of mine have been sold on due to faults rather than choosing to change cars!

    Thank you everyone.

You must be incredibly bad in your choice of cars, if you have managed to buy several clunkers in the short time that you have been driving. Perhaps a bit of advice from someone who knows about cars, might stem the leakage of cash into clunkers..
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.

I've had my fair share of Vauxhalls and French cars .. all useless.
Now got an Audi A4 Diesel, it's great!! 50+ to the gallon and runs flawlessly!

A guarantor loan requires a guarantor with the ability to repay the loan. They'll usually require you to be a homeowner, have a good credit history and an income level that means they assess you could afford the repayments on top of your own commitments.

Sounds like its going to be a no go, and guarantor loans are rarely a good solution anyway - the APRs are very high.

Perhaps people can offer other suggestions/solutions if you can provide more information - what does she need the loan for? what about her situation means she is unable to get a loan from a bank (poor credit history/ low income / something else?)

You would have been better off starting your own thread.

Has she no savings then ?
Can she not get the money herself ?
