Advice on Comping on Return from Holiday

Options
Morning everyone

At Christmas I finally managed to clear the boards and I now comp by latest posted having managed to keep up to it since Christmas.

I'm wondering for those of you who comp this way and don't comp when you are on holiday - what do you do when you return in order to catch up again? What's the best way to sort the boards to ensure you haven't missed anything. I'm going for 7 nights.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts/help x

When I get back from holiday I do the following

Search on the day I return for any comps ending that day

IE - if you return on 19th Feb - search for all comps with E: 19/02 in the title posted within the last 10 days (if you just search for last 7 days you may have missed some that was posted on the day you went away)
After I have completed all those I then search for all comps with E: 20/02 & E: 21/02 in the title posted within the last 10 days

So after doing that you are 3 days clear of any comps that may end whilst catching up -- I then go back to the start of the board and just work my way through them as normal ......... if you don't manage to catch up before 21/02 ... then you can search again for all comps ending E: 22/02 and so on until you have caught up.

Yep, same as Daza, start with those ending first and once you've got the next couple of days sorted you can work on catch up. I also check the dailys list to make sure I pick up and bookmark any new good ones straight away.
Many thanks to everyone who posts competitions and works so hard to provide all the answers!

  • As others have said, when I get back I usually comp by end date for a few days to begin with. Then once I am a few days ahead, I will go back and catch up by gradually going through all of those posted since I left.

On returning after a period away my first port of call is this,or more specifically this:

    Today's most popular

That should show most of the high value/soon ending comps towards the first ten or so pages. It is not exact but works OK.

Then I try & catch up on the last few days posted comps via this:

Then I get a few comps posted :-)
