The honey does work but it has to be local honey - I'd tried it with local farm honey but it didn't work, then I found a bee keeper who lives a quarter of a mile away and his (or rather his bees'
) stuff works a treat.
Don't warm it up or take it with a hot drink though - and keep the honey in a cool place (but not cold): and you have to eat a spoonful at least twice a day during the peak season. Take it first thing and evening as a minimum. I was surprised it worked on me as I always thought it was grass pollen that set me off, which bees wouldn't harvest.
My other tips are: elderflower tea, chamomile tea, St John's Wort tablets or the old vaseline up the nose trick for a barrier. You can get a non-petroleum jelly based version from the chemist but I haven't tried it.
I would also avoid dairy products too.
In previous years I always used Laratadine but this year it made me really drowsy, even though it's not supposed to (maybe an interaction with another med) - fortunately soon afterwards I found the local honey from a summer fete and it's done the trick.
