Groupon help!

Hi,
I need some help with a Groupon purchase. On the 05.02.14 I purchased two tickets for £69.00 to a Valentines Thames Cruise with buffet for 14th and 15th of February. When I purchased the tickets, Groupon prompted me to select which date I would like to go on and I chose the 14th.
They sent me the voucher by email and admittedly I did not read the fine print. The next week I phoned the merchant to find out that the two days had been fully booked up and they could not offer me anything and to contact Groupon. I emailed Groupon on Friday 14th of February however my email account bounced back.
I emailed again on Saturday, Sunday and again on Monday to obtain a refund as I did not actually get to use my voucher and below is the response I received:
"Thanks for getting in touch.
I'm really sorry that you have not been able to get your chosen appointment. While I do appreciate your disappointment, please be advised that with or without a Groupon all businesses offer their services subject to availability. Weekend and evening appointments often get booked up early on as these are more convenient for the majority of our customers.
As the expiry date was stated in the Fine Print section on the voucher and on the deal page, we’re unfortunately unable to action refunds at this stage. If you ever have an issue with a Groupon, we’ll be happy to help, but it’s always best if you let us know about the issue within the validity period. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.
If there is anything else I can help you with, please let me know.
Kind regards"
I understand that I did not read the fine print but surely they cannot sell more tickets than are actually available for an event??!
I'm very annoyed about the situation and the fact that they have not offered even credit for something else baffles me.
I would really appreciate some advice,
Thank you for the help

Hello and welcome to MSE
Ive come to realise there are two types of offers on Groupon, timed (so for example ends in 5 days) or qty (say 200 vouchers available)
It seems odd to me that Groupon would offer something oversubscribed, the only thing I can think of it that Groupon were not the only ones with tickets to sell for this event date. Is the cruise a regular thing which happens or was it a one off? If it wasn't a one off and there are other sellers then I can understand why the dates would be fully booked.:money::rotfl::T0 -
Do you have a link to the T&Cs?0

Just had a quick Google, and it sounds like this should apply:
"> All bookings to exchange a Groupon for services are subject to availability of any particular time/date. Available space may be limited if you book near the end of the Voucher validity period. In such instances Groupon reserves the right to refund unredeemed Groupons in Groupon credit."0 -
