I have the Save with Jamie book and was looking at cooking his chicken stew and making into a shepherd's pie for dinner tonight with leftover chicken a sort of poultry farmer pie!
Anyway I was looking at his calorie count and IMO there is no way that the calories are correct.
chicken stew with mash - he reckons that for 4 - 300g chicken, 4 rashers of bacon,800g potatoes, 1 tablespoon of flour, glug of olive oil, knob of butter, 4 tbsp. of milk gives a calorie count of 332 each. Even conservatively I get 440.

If you eat it standing up, it's fewer calories0

He must be using 'paperthin' half rashers of bacon

Maybe he's trimming the bacon right down and using skimmed milk and lean chicken meat?0

I put it through a calorie counter I'm using to help me lose weight and it says 360 calories per portion. But that's with semi-skimmed milk, thin rashers of bacon with no fat, tsp of oil and 10g butter and chicken breast with the skin removed.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera.
