Inflation falls to 1.9%

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-26239631

"The rate fell below the Bank of England's 2% target for the first time in more than four years.

The fall is likely to underline the Bank of England's message that there
is no rush to raise interest rates."

It appears that Carney has manged to do in a few months what King failed to do in 5 years. Should Mervyn King be forced to forego his pension?

Apart from Petrol, whats dropped? Everything else appears to be fairly static in terms of prices

Except house prices, conveniently omitted from this figure of course

Why does anything need to drop? We still have inflation.
Don't blame me, I voted Remain.

    from the article:

"The lower inflation was in large part due to a fall in the cost of recreational and cultural activities, including falling DVD prices and lower entrance fees to attractions.

Discounts on furniture and household goods, and also lower alcohol and tobacco prices, also had an impact, the ONS said."

Only if it's standard practice to deprive one person of something because of someone else's actions.
If you think of it as 'us' verses 'them', then it's probably your side that are the villains.

I costed up an entire refurbishment about 8 months ago. I have just started carrying this out and all of the goods I had selected are now cheaper.

well the CPI and RPI fell in January compared to Dec so the actual cost of living fell

year on year (i.e. the rate) it rose reflecting the fact that the cost of living usually falls in January

don't spend all that extra money too quickly!

    CPI fell.

RPI though, rose, from 2.7% to 2.8%.
