I wouldn't personally use chicken in place of beef, veg maybe but the flavours would be off.

I would also just use the chicken stock cube or a vegetable one if you have.
I usually get the tesco ones for just pence, but the hubby had last used them and put the empty (both the beef and veg) boxes back in my cupboard:mad: so I didn't know I'd ran out!
Unfortunately it means a three quid bus ride to get some more cheap ones and the only ones close to me are £1.50 :mad:Mummy to ds 29/12/06 dd 10/2/08 ds 25/5/11:Amy angel born too soon 18/11/12, always with me Emmie Faith:A15 projects in 2015 10/15completed0 -
Thanks for all your answers (I can always count on you lot!)
I ended up using a chicken stock cube and then put a big squirt of hp in it.
But as lilyplonk says I'm hoping the other flavours will blank it out anyway!Mummy to ds 29/12/06 dd 10/2/08 ds 25/5/11:Amy angel born too soon 18/11/12, always with me Emmie Faith:A15 projects in 2015 10/15completed0 -
I'm sure you'll be fine. I often swap them round to increase flavour. So I'll use a meat stock cube instead of veggie (find those a bit insipid) and beef for lamb and pork although chicken often recommended. Worcestershire sauce and Marmite (and wine;)) are always good additions to sauces/gravies too.0
