Also last 2 months i have had to mot my car tax it and service it all totaling to 2200

The problem is the Official Receiver in bankruptcy isn't likely to recognise a lot of those expenses. So you might and up paying an IPA for 3 years and be no better off.
You should be able to reduce your groceries a lot. £305 including meals at work!!! You should be able to cut this to £150 by cooking from scratch and taking sandwiches into work.
Cancel the gym.
When does your phone contract end? When it does, don't upgrade, switch to a cheap PAYG SIM.
Find somewhere cheaper to get your haircut.0 -
Shopping includes nappies fresh fruit veg etc as i help with food for little one.
Trust me i have tried bringing it down going aldi etc still ends up the same specially as fruit it is dear.
Hair cut 8.00 quid a cut max 3 times a month some times 2.
But round were i live that is cheep.
My phone has month 18 month left. So can not lower it.
I understand with meals at work but i have tried in the past and it never works their is no fridge to keep food in so by the time it is dinner it is not good to eat.
I appriciate what you are saying though as i no you have to pay for 3 years. Any one been to the citizens advice plaice? Wounder if i took my expenditure sheet they would be able to help me0 -
Gym if cancled would be 9 months full payment so well over 170 quid.
Plus a rhomatogist told me to go and do swimming etc to help with my joints.0 -
Citizens Advice Bureau are brilliant but I fear you may not like their advice. As i am sure they will advise you that gym membership isnt a reasonable expense, e-cigs will have to come out of your grocery budget.
Your phone contract and gym contract can be cancelled and the amount you owe on canx it can go into the bankruptcy.
Are some of your groceries part and parcel of your child maintenance then? You also have £20 for daughters swimming and then £20 for other child related expenses. £80 for child care. Id the child care not covered by tax credits if the babies mum is on a low income and part time work?
on a better note....You are allowed to save for a holiday though and have emergency money too which you don't have at the moment.
Bankruptcy isn't an easy option your outgoings and income are scrutinized and you do have to justify it to the OR during your interview. CAB would be a great start.BSC no.370 AD March 14
:xmastree:SPC no. 196 target £350 for Christmas '14:xmastree:0 -
Hi
The gym and phone contract - stop paying them and they will fall into the BR anyway - then just get a PAYG sim.
No chance with the e-cigs - I doubt the OR will allow for those
3 hair cuts a month - really?! I'm lucky if I get 3 a year.
Meal at work - £2.50 a day - fine if its your main hot meal of the day but you would need to cut back on the main grocery bill instead. My sandwiches are fine until lunchtime without a fridge...
Christmas and birthday presents are not usually allowed for - you have to save elsewhere in the agreed budget.
I know you are trying hard to help support your family but I don't think the OR will agree with some of your expenditure - there are families of 4 getting by on less than you are spending. The OR is not looking to leave you destitute - your expenditure will be have to be 'reasonable' in the eyes of the OR.
Try the StepChange online debt remedy tool - its very good and suggests figures that might be considered reasonable for you.0 -

Off-topic, I know..sorry..but, for next Birthday, ask for a small Cool Bag...and a couple of freezer blocks? Sarnies will last until tea-time then.....?No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......0 -
I guess that aint a bad idea the cool bag.
Childcare etc hes she is part time and does recive some benifits not fully aure what but i no cause she needs a car for work her i surance and petrol eat alot of her money as she ia only 24. No no claims.
I think before i jump into it the CAB appoinment might be the best option as i am sure i will be able to move my payments to the end of the tern that i ow in my iva.
Gym and phone yes is bancrupt suppose ur right that money would thwn bwcome free.
With the childcare me and girlfrwind are still together and i no she struggles thats why i try my best with the clothing. Days out when i am off.
Nappies and pay 80 to help with childcare.
I appriciate all the advice every one has said i think on monday i will call the cab to see if i can meet them and call my iva grant thlrton up to see what they can do.0 -
Hi
Maybe what you need to do is step back a bit - its so hard to think clearly sometimes when you are struggling with money. Perhaps you and your family could get some support to plan the future and sit down together and really look at how you will achieve your goal of being able to live together as a family and have enough money to do that. I am sure your GF is entitled to some benefits and there is no reason why she can't apply.
CAB is a good start but like all charities, its about how good your local teams financial skills are - you could also try National Debtline or Step Change - I found Step change brilliant but they are all there to help.
