Wedding website for RSVPs etc...

Options
Anybody created their own website and can recommend a service please? (preferably free).

I'd like to be able to send basic invitations and allow guests to view the details online, including the ability to RSVP.

I refuse to invite RSVPs by text, facebook etc but a well designed website would be ok.

If you're happy to share your links that would be great :)

I'm using http://www.gettingmarried.co.uk/ and have found it pretty good with the free package.
  • we're using www.mywedding.com which apart from the fact that most of the 'local supplier' suggestions are American is really good - easy to design website and loads of other planning and inspiration tools as well!
Officially saved enough to cover the cost of our wedding! :A

Second vote for mywedding.com really easy and can be customised with quite a few additional pages.

It took me one evening to set up mine and i'm not computer savvy at all. I was able to put details of local hotels and transport links loads of information

  • I am looking at exactly the same thing!

Can I ask, do any of those website put up adverts on your site?
Also, I have seen some websites where guests can indicate which hotel they have booked - is this an easy feature to add?

  • I seem to remember another plus with mywedding.com is you can get an app for your guests to download and add their pictures to, so a really easy photo sharing opportunity.

  • Our daughter used weddingwire.com, which seems good. Separate "entrances" to the site - guests see venue etc and can RSVP, "owner" goes in a different way, sees guest lists, table plans etc.

The one I recommended allows you to do this.

It does have some banner ad's at the top of the page but they're fairly unobtrusive.

I've been really impressed by mine because you put in the post coade and it shows all hotels in the area on a map with the hotels and venue marked.

As the site admin you can then remove hotels or put them in order of preference and add some text to the hotel page saying which ones you recommend.

It also shows things like driving directions, train stations, etc and even has a 'travel sharing' page so people can organise travelling together.

Also allows people to post questions on there that you get E-mail alerts for, they can RSVP online, view the gift list and you can add photo's and stories about how you met etc.
  • I've not noticed any adverts on my website from myweddings.com
