Barclays won't remove my OD

Hello, so here is the issue. I have a miserable 10 pounds OD at my Barclays current account. I called Barclays to remove it, the advisor said it will be removed in 1 business day, that was in the beginning of this month.

I waited around a week, then called again. Then the advisor said it will be removed in 3-4 business days. I am waiting a week and it is still not removed.

The issue is I am abroad, could someone tell me how I can remove my overdraft. Cheers

Some accounts have a £10 buffer. If this is a feature of the account it may prove difficult to remove. Just ensure you don't use it.

Are you sure it's an actual overdraft and not just a buffer?

My overdraft shows as -£10 on my Barclays account, but that £10 is not actually reflected in my available balance. No idea why. Just guessing it's their way of giving a £10 buffer...?

It is overdraft, because when I applied for one, they gave me only 10. And my bank account name is now BBA with OD Tier Y (-£10.00
    Overdraft limit).
  • Why is it so important to remove it?

I heard that it is bad for CRA's when it is so low amount. So i want to remove it, because obviously credit organizations prefer to give credit to defaulted people and I am receiving 10 pounds with perfect credit report...

    That sounds like poppycock.

Can you tell us what exactly your credit report shows for the £10?

That sounds like even more poppycock. Getting any credit if your CRA file shows defaults can be more difficult, or even impossible.

An overdraft facility doesn't count as a default.
