Good afternoon all, I have been given a bread maker and made a very nice loaf in it the other day
I am trying to save money and wondered if anyone knows if they are expensive to run as it needed to be on for four hours!
Thanks.

Thanks.

I've got one too, and I'm assuming they are cheaper to run than putting the oven on. The motor isn't on for very long really when it's doing the kneading, and the actual baking time is only about an hour. The rest of the time it's just sitting there while the dough rises. I'm sure the element in an electric oven must be bigger? Though of course if you bake bread in the oven you could be cooking something else in there at the same time!;)0
