I cook potatoes that are sprouting,I cut the sprouting bits off and use them as normal. Why would you not ? If they're soft or black I throw them.

I should have been more specific, sprouting, soft and about to rot at this time of year, if they are last summer's crop.
  • My local morry hasn't had sacks of spuds for about 4 weeks so I would happily grab one for less than a 3.5kg bag!

I've been getting the basic bags and they sprout - so I just peel them a little more than I would normally.
    Thanks OP.

  • went into to Morrisons today to stock up on their tins of car food 6 for £2.. and I picked up a sack of spuds for £2.. there were loads there, and I think practically every shopper that came in grabbed a bag lol...

I bought a 25kg bag of spuds last time from a farm shop, and they didn't last as long as they normally do, before sprouting etc... and I think they were roughly about £9 per sack....

so with these being 12.5kgs we will def use them up before they go on the turn lol...

I bought one of these bags of spuds yesterday. I'd cooked up some whoopsied mince in the slow cooker and now I have six plastic tubs of cottage pie stashed away in the freezer! Good, tasty, home made food at a bargainlicious price! And loads of spuds left over so on Sunday I'm going to cook some in their jackets for when the family come over to go with a buffet I'm doing. I love a bargain I do!
:hello:  please play nicely children !
  • Yay we got a sack today - haven't opened it yet but it's got to be better than the sacks from a few months ago that were awfull.
Having said that, they didn't have any for at least the last 3 weeks here.
