Go Miele, nuff said.Happiness is wanting what you have, not having what you want.
Primum non noce!0 -
I have a Bosch washer and can recommend.
Avoid Indesit (my last one from them only lasted about 18 months)0 -
Miele as well . I would try to go for 1 that has a separate temperature control on it so you can wash at any temperature. Bosch is a good make as well.make sure you get a long guarantee, sometime Miele have a offer on for a free 5 year guarantee0

Avoid Indesit and Servis. I like Bosch and Whirlpool.0

I bought a John Lewis own brand, and I love it. I think they are made by AEG.
Decent price, good aftersales, free 3 year guarantee.

Ive just bought a Toploader washing machine. Its an american style 10.2 Kilo.
its absolutely excellent.
I used to have the washing machine on all night friday night and saturday morning, getting clothes ready for Monday school and work. Now I only have to do 2 washes on a friday night, and Im all done...
The make is Admiral, and I can seriously recommend it.... more so aswell.... it draws in hot water aswell as cold.
I hope this helps.
Good luck0 -
I bought a miele a couple of years ago. Cost £500 but it is great. Offers cold and 30deg washes and you can do a short wash on any of the programmes. It scored the best on the Which! survey for not breaking down etc. Personally I think it's worth spending money to get a good one (if you can afford it) on the basis that the time and energy it takes up when they break down is more costly than buying a more expensive machine.0

Check out comet clearance auctions as you can often get these brands at massively reduced prices because of an odd scratch on the machine - saved me a fortune and as it's in utility room - who cares!

I picked up a Siemens tumber dryer from clearance auction for £160 and in the shops (even the cheapest online retailer) was charging £350+ so well worth a look!
John lewis also have their sale starting today!!!! (don't forget quidco as well!!!!!)
Incidentally my indesit lasted me 5 years (and it was a washer dryer) so they are not all bad!!!!Tesco is my second home:j0 -
We got an AEG from John Lewis about 3 years ago, no problems yet (touch wood!)0

If you are like me and don't mind doing a bit of research first, I can recommend a website called ukwhitegoods.com They have forums where you can ask repair men about problems you are having with dishwashers, washing machines etc.
It makes very interesting reading as the same names come up time and time again with the same sort of problems! It's where I go before I make a big purchase.
At least it gives you an idea of which ones to avoid and the guys are very helpful and knowledgeable - after all, they repair them all day every day!
Hope this helps,
