And here I was thinking that I was just a weird shape. I have been constantly exasperated with pattern companies. I would dearly love to just buy a pattern that does not need adjusting, the old head is in a bit of a strain when it comes to adjusting I tell you.
Thanks girls this has cleared up the issue that I am not the only one with this problem.

I don't find dressmaking pattern sizes any more reliable than clothes sizes, I have stuff in my wardrobe in every size from 14 to 20 & they all fit me.
I have a toile, a calico dress pattern that I made to fit me & I find that works well.
