Steam mop- advice

Options
I have just been given a gift of a Morphy Richards 9 in 1 steam mop which looks fab. Couple of things that perhaps I can get advice on :
1 - I have laminate ( not sealed) floors, read conflicting info as to whether or not it's ok to use on this type of floor, any advice or experience of doing this would be great. Also ceramic floors in bathrooms, assume no problem with these?
2 - what else do you use your mop/appliance for? Looks like it has lots of options just wondering how everyone finds it for different tasks and what they feel it does best?

Interesting. I gave been looking at this one £99 in argos but £55 on an amazon. My mum has the shark which she used on my laminate floors. They were fine and my laminate is knackered!

No real advice for you but I will be interested in this thread as I purchased this model two days ago. I plucked up courage to use it today on the kitchen floor. Definitely got the floor much cleaner but did leave it a little wetter than I had imagined. I feel a bit bewildered by all the tools but I am looking forward to experimenting. Hoping it will be a success on tiles and grouting which I will try out next :)
  • I bought the morphy richards 9 in 1 just after Christmas and find that it.is great on both laminate and lino, no damage to the laminate and find that it dries very quickly. Still to try a few of the tools but have used it on my oven and gas hob with great success, even used it inside the fridge on the seals after a milk spillage.

Do you use ordinary water? I saw a review that said you couldn't.

It does state distilled water in the instructions. We are in a very hard water area, so we do use it in the steam cleaner. If we were in a soft water area, I'd think twice about it.

We have the steam shark and I only do the laminate floors on its lowest setting (dust), can't remember what the middle setting is and the highest is scrub which I only use on the toilet.
