Good solid build

Noticed it's just gone out of stock on the web site but still in store near me in Chatham and gillingham and in the city of London store so assume at all stores subject to stock.

Official MoneySavingExpert insert: Sports Direct has said these Dunlop suitcases (also available in black and red) will be available at this price online and in-store for the "foreseeable future". Delivery’s £4.99. Thanks to Browntoa for sharing this offer.

Bizarrely, the black one seems to be in stock on the Dunlop (read copy of owner SportsDirect's) site.

I think the real question will be how much does this weigh? The Sub G one we use is very light indeed (but also quite a bit more expensive!).

Edit: I'm an idiot, no idea you could scroll down to the dimensions etc.

    Weight: 3.1kgs

Not bad, actually. Leaves almost 7kg for contents...

I'm shortly flying long haul, and my allowance in Economy is 7kgs, so this would be nearly half of my allowance.
    I also purchased a Sub G, which is 1.5kgs.
It totally depends on the luggage allowance as to whether this is a good deal for airline travel.
A lot of ladies at my bowling club though bought the Dunlop bags for carrying bowling equipment - now that's a bargain! Bowling cases can cost over £50, and are not much better really.
  • The 24" looks to be too big for Ryan Air

Seems there's no weight limit on the bags as cabin luggage on easyjet or Ryanair , I'm only planning on using this on shorthaul weekend trips as it goes

    British airways state 23 kg

It agree if there's a weight limit then it's better to use a lightweight case

The limit on Thomson holidays is 5kgs - allowances seem to be getting lower and lower! Unless they've changed it recently, Ryanair is 10kgs, and Easyjet is strictly one piece of cabin baggage, sources might be a little out of date so really worth checking.

i bought this case recently when it was only £3.99 and i am quite chuffed with it, it's far more substantial then i thought it would be, i expected it to be very very thin but it's typical and it has a lot of handy little zippered pockets too, def worth it even at £7.99

    i have only one regret

    i only bought one! :rotfl:

    > 16 inch Cabin Friendly Suitcase
    > Height: 47cm
    > Width: 34cm
    > Depth: 16cm

    Ryanair Hand luggage

“Strictly one item of cabin baggage per passenger (excluding infants) weighing up to 10kg with maximum dimensions of 55cm x 40cm x 20cm is permitted.” Any smaller handbags, briefcases, laptops, and purchases made in the airport must be carried in that same single pack

    EasyJet

If you bring ONE piece of cabin baggage no bigger than 50 x40 x 20cm including handles and wheels, we guarantee it will always travel with you either in the overhead locker or, if necessary, under the seat in front of you.

You can still choose to bring ONE slightly bigger bag up to the maximum size of 56 x 45 x 25cm including handles and wheels, but on some busy flights your bag may have to go into the hold.
There’s no weight constriction for cabin baggage, as long as you can place and retrieve the cabin bag safely in the overhead lockers without assistance

    British Airways

    56cm x 45cm x 25cm
    (22in x 18in x 10in)
Must fit into the baggage gauge on display in the check-in area

A 23kg (51lb) weight limit applies to all hand baggage and you must be able to lift the bag into the overhead locker.

    Norwegian Airways

You are permitted to carry one item of hand baggage (max 10kg - 55x40x23cm) in addition to one small personal item onboard the aircraft. Your personal item (e.g. small handbag or laptop case) must fit comfortably under the seat in front of you.

    Thomson

If you’re just booking a flight, you can carry 1 piece of hand luggage of up to 5kg for free. The maximum dimensions of your hand luggage can be 55x40x20cm and you must be able to lift your hand luggage into the overhead storage compartments yourself. Things like laptops, handbags and items bought at the airport must fit within your 1 piece of hand baggage

    KLM

Ryanair are now allowing a second small carry on bag in addition to the 10kg hand luggage.

Usually you can get away with a standard size carrier bag - useful for maximising your hand luggage allowance.
