Student Loan and Interest

I was at uni from 04-08, having looked over my student loan statements for this time, In my final year of uni I realised I payed £700 in interest for the year, on a debt of 12,000. Is this normal?

Also I haven't received a statement in 3 years, is that normal too?

That's an interest rate of around 6% which sounds a bit high. You should be getting yearly statements but if you've moved, maybe they're not getting to you.

I'm surprised you paid any money if you were still at Uni, but the interest rate charged between Sept 2007 to 2008 was 4.8% so that would seem correct (assuming you have rounded the figures).

you should receive yearly statement if you are making payment but maybe you have moved or not working?

I've not moved, the statements just seemed to stop.

Yes I've been in full time employment since I finished uni, and haven't moved either.
