    NI isn't relevant, it's separate. You're risking the whole amount being called in if they twig (were your wife working). Hell of a risk.

    When you earn 10K+ a month, its peanuts anyhow. NI is relevant. We choose to pay it, despite probably not being able to benefit from it by the time we retire.

    We get bled enough without cutting lifestyle. The boomers (who benefit from our NI paid btw) didnt pay loans for their education, neither should we.

    "I pay VAT, I shouldn't have to pay income tax"

    They're separate taxes so NI is not relevant here.

    My point is, we already pay enough into the system without getting bled dry with yet another socialist funding scheme. As far as SL are concerned, my wife is a kept woman.
