Why not change to the low energy ones? They'd save you a fortune!0 -

Yes they will but they cant be used for everything though, which is why I think gov have messed up again......you cant use them with a dimmer switch (well in the UK anyway), nor apparently in fridges (due to heat) and you cant used them in enclosed light fittings....so whilst this is step in the right direction, banning ordinary bulbs is madness.Stevie Coppell's record breaking blue and white royal army - championship winners 2005-60 -
Although the energy saving lightbulbs are energy efficient they do however give off bad emmisions I heard a while back opn the radio so not very healthy. Perhaps someone could shed more light (excuse the pun ) on this.royalsteve wrote: »Yes they will but they cant be used for everything though, which is why I think gov have messed up again......you cant use them with a dimmer switch (well in the UK anyway), nor apparently in fridges (due to heat) and you cant used them in enclosed light fittings....so whilst this is step in the right direction, banning ordinary bulbs is madness.0 -

Dimmable ones are now becoming available, and the range of smaller bulbs is expanding.

The link isn't about price, its just to show that dimmables and others are available---no doubt the price will drop as they catch on.0 -
It's one penny, not one pence!:rolleyes:0

Whilst a supporter of Energy Saving bulbs I would be very interested in knowing more about emmissions - I think we are already exposed to too much rf emmission.0
