PPI Payments!!!

Options
I took out a secured loan on my property two years ago and accepted the Payment Protection insurance with Halifax Bank. Due to the recent documentaries and watchdog programs about PPI and are you covered I checked my PPI and it does not cover my occupation as a freelancer. Basically I have been paying for something that is useless and would have never paid out if I was out of work for extended periods of time.

I have contact Halifax and they have cancelled my PPI but state that I am not entitled to any money back as I openly accepted their insurance. Taking on board the recent information I have read, surely I should be entitled to something. Can anyone advise on my position and the best way to go about getting my money back.

Kind regards

Mark Carr

it would cover you for life cover but

when you took out the secured loan they accepted your freelance income which is rare as not permanent?
when you took out the loan and the repayments cover did you pay the correct class of national insurance contibutions?this was for eligibility

if not may be worth writing off
