Not much to report this week. Been a kind of hectic week so little Linked finance or anything done really.

Mini gaffels back to school today which was nice. The obligatory photo is getting harder to do, and it was decidedly grumpy today!

Older mini gaffel has half moved out. His girlfriend had more or less moved in with us, now she has got a house with 2 of his friends and he is more or less moved in. Delighted! Food and electricity bills should be halved. Also means the two younger gaffels can move into his VERY large bedroom, as theirs is very small and just about fits in 2 beds and 2 drawers. Our daughter is back to university on 19th so that is going to be dear. She is entitled to nothing so it is all bank of parents. I have agreed to pay rent and travel back/forth, and £300 per month.

With all the changes, I might go on a decorating spree. Still awaiting some quotes from some work on house like insulation, replacing windows but we could do with a spruce up in every room. Four kids & 2 german shepherds take their toll on paintwork and furniture.

Wow its been 5 weeks, very neglectful.

Well what has happened. Mortgage company upheld my complaint about the delay in applying the large payments to the mortgage. They calculated the extra interest I was charges was 153euro so offered me 200 euro compensation. I accepted and officially on paper and everything, MY MORTGAGE IS CLEARED!!!

Soooooo we are on operation lets make this house our dream house until we find our dream house. And this involves...a 40m extension to our kitchen to make a lovely family room. Extension is costing £30k and so far coming from wages as we do it bit by bit. Extension has now been built up to roof level with windows in. So the difficult decision regarding new kitchen, floor etc etc etc coming now.

In terms of business we had a terrible two months and in reflection I put this down to the refugee crisis and people thinking about that and not wishing to do frivolous spending. Aug and Sep were our worst two months in 7/8 years but October is back to normal. Thank goodness!

In terms of other stuff, still tinkling with p2p and linked finance. So far earned 30.16 interest and about 2.5k invested. The house extension has occupied us so not focused on it completely, but will go with this at full blast in new year once the extension is done.

And talking of the house, it is oh sooo quiet..... DS1 is well and truly moved out (food and utility bills HALVED!) and dd is away at uni!
