I`ve got myself a small induction hob

:j It arrived a couple of days ago and it is proving very fast and extremely economical. I got the portable one made by stellar for £59 and today it is sitting on top of my unlit gas hob. It needs pans with a base which will hold a magnet. I have ordered some pans but in the meantime, to my delight, I have discovered that my ken hom wok is suitable and so is my pressure cooker

Today I browned some sausages and they fried instantly. I am making a sausage casserole bulked up with beans, potatoes and carrots and it is gently simmering in the wok on a very low heat. It must be so much cheaper to use than the gas hob or oven. Probably the same as a slow cooker only this is going to be ready in an hour

It`s got very variable heat settings and a timer

  • What a neat thing - I just watched the video about it!

I would love one, but with a slow-cooker and a remoska, it would be hard to justify another cooking gadget. My pans are all Stellar too, so would work with the hob...

ive never understood what an induction hob is and why you cant use lots of pots and things on them.

Whats the remoska like, ive heard good things but I dont really see how its different to a slow cooker:o

This review contains quite a good explanation:

at least - it's simply put and I'm assuming that the information is correct!
