What do I wear to a funeral?

I would say wear whatever you like, or dress as the deceased would have liked. They are why you are there after all.
During last year we went the funeral of OH's Uncle. OH was thinking that he ought to wear black. But then decided to wear his normal 'best clothes' which aren't black because his Uncle never 'stood on ceremony' and never bothered with anybody else's business.
A funeral happening just before this, half the people were wearing oneses I guess this must have fitted.0 -
Purple is also a colour of mourning. I usually wear a black jacket or coat with a dash of purple in my scarf.0

When my mother died I didn't have time to go out to buy anything black. The tradition three days was insisted on by my father.
I wore a dark maroon trouser suit, with a camel coat over it.
Sister, who didn't help at all, appeared just before the funeral in a new suit and posh hat. It's not about show, but respect.Member #14 of SKI-ers club
