Question for knitting peeps

I have been trying to find something to hold 100grams of wool while I crochet.

I have just seen a large croc teapot with a ball of wool inside with the wool threaded through the spout. If this works I could easily go to the charity shop and buy a cheap pot

But do you think it would hold 100grams and unravel correctly, has anyone tried this or have any ideas what I could use.

I have tried a wooden kitchen roll holder and a metal toilet roll holder but the wool would not unravel as the base does not swivel.

A lot of the wooden ones on line are very expensive has anyone got any cheap ideas. Thanks in anticipation

I used a baby milk tin with a hole cut in the lid.Works well if you can pull the wool from the centre of the ball.

My teapots have small holes at the spout, would need flexible wire to catch the wool.

I put my ball of wool into a carrier bag - squash the air out of it as much as possible - then tie the handles in a double knot with the yarn coming through the middle of the knot.

If you do happen to come across a 'knotted bit' it's very easy to just untie the knotted handles while you sort it out.

I use a ziplock bag and cut the corner off for the wool to come through.
