I was winning decent prizes like the ones in my signature but haven't won anything but a Koala and a oven glove this year!
I think I have upped my game and entered more rafflecopters, Facebook, magazine & Twitter comps when I wouldn't normally but Im not doing well even though I am always days or weeks ahead and close to clearing the boards. I have entered thousands!
Its like my luck has been snatched away and I didn't have loads from the beginning to be honest, the comps I won apart from one were all giving away multiple prizes.
I'm feeling sorry for myself. I've put a lot of time and effort in.

Don't feel sorry for yourself - there will be great prizes just around the corner, I'm sure
If you're not enjoying it, or it's making you feel glum, stop entering for a while: there's no point letting it make you feel sorry for yourself, as it's supposed to be a fun hobby.
When I'm feeling negative, I look through all the comps that I've entered recently, and think about the one I'd most like to win. Usually a holiday. I then have fun researching online all the places I could see, etc, if I won that holiday. For me, this is almost as fun as the winning: the excitement and anticipation, when there is a prize I really want, is a real adrenaline kick.0 -
Have to say I love what JessicaAhh has said, I couldn't agree more - I love the FREE excitement you get with comping, thinking about the prizes you could win, I love it - I could spend all day day-dreaming.......oh hang on a minute - I do!!2024 £72, 2023 £2230, 2022 £300, 2021 £1800, 2015 £3790, 2014 £44600

I know exactly where you're coming from, I haven't had what I'd call a big or decent win for about 9 months now, have had plenty of small wins where like yourself it's been "win one of 1,000" or such like, but nothing really where I've been picked as THE winner iyswim.
However I also agree with JessicAhh above, I literally spend the day dreaming about how I'd feel if I got that WTC / WEM etc, telling me I'd won something lovely. Every day I get excited when I hear the post come through the door (even though it's only ever bills or junk catalogues!!) and every time I open my email up I get a little bit giddy in case there's a WEM there!
I do find it a bit disappointing sometimes when I stop and think about the hours that I put in for such little return, but for me at the moment it's still a fun hobby so I'm keeping at it in the HOPE that someday soon there will be a lovely reward for all my efforts!0 -
Don't get me wrong it's still fun & I do daydream myself. It's just that sometimes it would be nice if I got something back for all my efforts. I start doubting myself and thinking that I've been putting in the wrong phone number or email address lol, I get very paranoid.
It seems that other people have more luck than I do & I try so hard.0 -

Yep. Ditto to all of that!! I often doubt myself and go back and check I've put the right phone number in etc. I also can't help myself from feeling so envious when other people are posting magnificent wins on IWIWIW. (Don't get me wrong, I'd never begrudge anyone their prizes, I just often sigh and think "if only that were me")
One day our turn will come Glamourpussxx

Glamourpuss! The year is still young and there are shed loads of comps ending over the next couple of weeks. Keep your chin up, stay positive and you'll see the big wins come rolling in v soon. xx"The hammer of the gods will drive our ships to new lands,
To fight the horde, singing and crying: Valhalla, I am coming"0 -
I haven't even won a sneeze since I started some five months ago. I don't mind - I have to regard this as a bit of fun - a diversion if you like. If it starts raising my BP then I'll leave it for a while. I think you just have to regard it as 'something to do with the potential for lovely benefits'.0

I definitely feel like there has been a bit of a dry spell across the board since the start of the year for a lot of us, so at least I don't feel like I'm the only one!
I've won a few nice small wins (as you can see from my sig) but nothing of medium-large size since around Nov, including NOT A SINGLE ADVENT (noooo) ;D
Jan-Feb are always terrible for dry spells, looking at my wins from last year I see a distinct increase from March onwards for both the years I have been comping, so there is hope!!
But God I love daydreaming about the wins, a little spike of adrenaline every time.
And also I love not knowing how many people have entered!! Even if it's thousands, I don't want to know, as it takes the mystery out of it!
For example, I am - ahem - well known for my love of Senor Cumberbatch of the Sherlock persuasion (truth be told, I have a semi-famous Tumblr account, eek), and I recently entered a ballot for free tickets to a radio show he's in which I adore called Cabin Pressure. The Radio Times then decided to write an article on how many folks entered for the ballot (which winners haven't been released yet) saying 22,854 people applied for 200 seats!!! Spoiling all my fun...Make £2019 in 2019 No 153 - £4517.17/£20190
