PCN From TNC Parking Services / J.A.S Parking. Help Please

Hi,
Today we received a letter through from TNC Parking Services reminding us about a parking charge notice that we didn't even know about.
Basically, the problem is we ( a construction company ) hired a van from a van hire company for one of our employees to use. The employee, who is no long at the company, seems to have parked in Staples and has got a ticket ( for what reason we do not know ) and we are no long in contact with him. As today is the first time our company and the hire company have known about this PCN it seems J.A.S did not send out a NTK and we assume the employee just binned the original notice that was on the windscreen.
We get on very well with the hire company so they have no problem contesting it but we are just wondering, if anything, what can we do?
All help would be appreciated.

Unfortunately the site would not let me post a picture. The PCN was issued on 30/10/2013 and the letter is dated 31/01/14 but received today0

Plenty you can do - Start by reading this thread:
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4816822
Then post back here for more help once you have you challenge/appeal together.0 -
And ''search this forum'' using the heading next to 'forum tools' on page one of this parking forum (don't search the whole MSE forums!) for the keyword 'TNC' as there are loads of posts about this late Notice to Keeper which is not compliant with the POFA2012. You need to treat this first letter as if it was a NTK and respond to it as shown in the 'first appeal' examples in the linked sticky thread. Pick one which is about a late NTK which isn't POFA compliant, such as one sent to Civil Enforcement for example. I know there's at least one suitable example in the sticky thread post #1. Do not imply who was driving.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
