Selfie photos ? Are they always taken on a phone?

Is that what it means or can u take them on a camera etc?

    People usually use their phone because they can see what's in the shot on the screen, but you can use anything.

    It's just I've seen some selfies that are taken my other people eg a portrait for want of a better word, so didn't know if that was allowed or is the whole thing meaning you have to be holding the device yourself when you take a picture?

    I think the whole point is to take the photo yourself of yourself, but I may be wrong...

    Selfie; "A photograph that one has taken of oneself, typically one taken with a smartphone or webcam and uploaded to a social media website." HTH
  • I take portrait photos of myself (see avatar) using a timer or a remote control for a camera. It's still a selfie. :)
