Wholesale jewellers in Belfast- recommendations?

I'm being spoiled and getting an eternity ring for a special birthday. Has anyone tried any of the wholesale jewellers, I have looked at Murray and Co, Gardiners and Cahoon/Ellison online. Is the quality as good as eg. Lunn's and are they actually cheaper as I know nothing about any of them? Thanks for any help.

I don't rate Gardiners. Friend had trouble getting them to fix a poor quality ring she bought from there. They did in the end but only after she got a report from another jeweller. I went in once and they kept trying to sell me uncertified diamonds. I wanted the certificate but they weren't very helpful.
Lunn's is definitively more expensive. Depending on what you are looking to spend, a trip to the jewellery quarter could be a possibility. You can save thousands.0 -
Try Joseph Rea. They are technically wholesale and I've always found them really good quality for the money. Last time we went to Lunns, we found the rings really not great in terms of quality, but still big prices.. living on the name I think.0

My vote would be for Gardiners - have had nothing but excellent service and good value from them over the years.0

Used Gardiners before for our wedding rings and other bits - always found them to be good and helpful although you used to need a card (get these at trade fairs and wedding fairs) to gain access.
Found them to be a lot cheaper than the other well-known jewellers in Belfast.0 -

That whole 'needing a card' thing was just to try and create a feeling you were getting in on something secret and therefore cheap.
In reality anyone and their uncle could get a card and they are just any other jeweller. A wholesaler sells to the trade - do you think any jeweller will buy their stock from a wholesaler who undercuts them???I am a Financial Adviser specialising in Mortgages, Protection, Health and Medical Insurance. Still found them to be a lot cheaper than the likes of Lunns for the equivalent product. Better to deal with imo too.0 -
