Back to the original post...

Hi just wondering if anyone has used this site for buying home heating oil?

https://www.cheaperoil.com/

They are coming in cheapest but no reviews on the site and as per usual I'm nervous of using a new company.

Thanks :)

  • I always check out https://www.cheapestoil.com to compare across NI,
then go back to the firm I usually use and they've matched cheapest so far.

For example today for 500 litres it's:

£282.45 with the co mentioned (based Derry/ Londonderry?)
    £272.37 with cheapestoil.co.uk.

Probably depends where you live in NI.
  • Prices are pretty good at the minute so it's probably a good time to buy.

    I agree.

If you are nervous about using a new company then ring up your existing one and ask if they could price-match. You will need to quote the company and the price for that day, and the company that you are using may ask you to pay upfront or at least put an imprint on your card (just means that they are guaranteed instant payment when delivered).

Used to do this with maxol direct (now emo) and was very easy to do - at the end of the day they want to keep their existing customers.

I have used cheapest oil many times ,however the last time a new supplier came up cheaper .However the receipt was hand written which didnt impress me ,so I wont be using that supplier again.

Hello. I think I have seen this advertised on the screens at the newish Go petrol station in Belfast...they seen to be connected and are advertising as having the cheapest home heating oil because of their online booking. Personally I like to stick with what I know and usually use Carlisle fuels...got 900 litres this week for £490.

I bought 500 litres at £277 last Saturday, it is now £288, so looks like cold snap is having an affect already.

Have you checked to see if there are any buying clubs in your area I saved £22 this time with East Belfast oil club, know they are in other areas.Sill
