He never ate all his dinner earlier (fish fingers) he put some aside to have in a sandwich later on. He's just gone to get them and they have vanished. I've 2 students here at the mo and both are pleading their innocence. They have hardly disappeared into thin air but neither will admit to eating them.
How bloody rude is that?? :eek:Thanks Tiger for the KFC game.....it kept DH quite for quite a while...and he is now looking forward to his free chicken box meals.Savvybuyer wrote: »Hi there. Regarding my posts baffling some people, I have Asperger's syndrome, so I suspect it's a bit of the Asperger's language (which Dr Tony Attwood - let me get this right:D - adjunct Associate Professor at Griffith University, Queensland, Australia - calls "Aspergerese"). Albert Einstein gave notoriously confusing lectures (no doubt 'confusing' to the audience:D, if indeed there was one. He also, rather daftly, gave lectures to empty rooms if no-one turned up:rotfl::rotfl:- now, I wouldn't go that far).
I wouldn't put myself on a par with Einstein. Nice to know, in a sense, though that I have a touch of the autism:D:D:j. (:rotfl:)

If you pressed print balance at T ATMs, it had a £1 off coupon at the bottom. Random ATMs it seems.Tiger

Not my word. (I was told that I 'talked in riddles' - some time before I ended up being diagnosed.) I hope you're not 'taking the mick' btw - as people make a lot of fun of those (whether known or not) with Asperger's*, although, with my long-toothedness, I neither know nor, if I did, would I care about it even if you were.:rotfl: (And...if you can decipher the meaning of that...:D:D:rotfl:)
*I'm thinking in the past, long ago when I was a schoolkid.
It's the way how the vast majority of people get the 'gist' of something and then top-slice bits of that in order to get (separately) to various details. Whereas I see all the details and entire complexities and have to proceed, in a logical way in my view, through each of them in turn, before reaching a conclusion. Sometimes it seems like I will never reach that conclusion, because of how many different details have to be dealt with, each in turn. I sometimes miss the 'gist' of something (alternatively called "the overall picture") - it's called being "context-blind" (Google that term for more info.). This can, to the trained eye (and possibly myself once the realisation eventually hits me, way after the event), be spotted in my posts occasionally - for example I'll be comparing, let's say, different brands and names of coffee and match them all up with names and prices (and potential glitches therefrom) but miss the fact that a slightly different named coffee is in fact equivalent/comparable. But sometimes I do pick up on such matters (through repetition, rote and previous learning rather than intuition or 'common' sense) - SP Brussels Pate Chubb vs M Savers Liver & Bacon Pate anyone? (My view they are equivalent, even if the names are different - but that requires an underlying understanding/knowledge of the make-up of those products rather than comparing the same words - I do well on words, and spotting slight, very slight, pedantic, differences in wording between one thing and another - but I sometimes miss the practical basis or the practical knowledge of the use of products etc. I will tend to proceed by analysing the meaning of the word "use" rather than really understanding how different products are used (without quotation marks around that word).)
It's collection of pieces of information - facts - rather than an underlying understanding of the theoretical or practical background. It's why I miss the 'plot' (if there is one - to me, there nearly always isn't) of books or films and don't see the social context. Until/unless I analysis it on an academic basis. I can do well in understanding theory or background but, again, I have to learn it! I can come up with unique and special insights from a different angle, not widely thought about. It's not necessarily an impairment (e.g. not picking up any plotlines) but a different, and rewarding perhaps, way of looking at things. Yes, why not have the alternative interpretation? (It's far more enriching and dare it say it emotionally rewarding than necessarily just seeing whatever it is that people more generally see.)0
