No you wouldn't need a smart TV but to really take advantage it is good to have HDMI on your TV.
I'll have a look for a DVD player that will suit all formats but the way I see it is you download a file then burn it to disc to play, if you can take the part out of burning it to a disc it will save you time and no need to buy discs either. I'll PM you some info later.
Oh thanks for that. Just a quick note - I was thinking I would put the downloads on a USB rather than discs and get a DVD player that has USB facility.
edit: I can locate DVD players with USB facility easily enough - the problem is combining this with a player that handles the required formats also.0 -
