    You save 90.98%

P+P is £3.50 (Good for all that weight, well i'm getting 10 packs)

    Vat 17.5% so for 1 pack and p+p it's 79p

Well this is for laser printers but i still use it for my inkjet, i've bought 10 packs so 5000 pieces of paper, i doubt i'll run out.

Edit: Just ordered 10 packs incl P+P an Vat for £15.75, thats good as most inkjet ones cost £13, happy saving

    Thanks maneesh
Just put my order of 20 packs and 20 Lever arch files.cheap.Also free delivery after £30 :T

I just realised what i wrote about the double sided pieces of paper, my bad.

Anyway it came today (overnight), i think the postal service is doing great, and only £3.50 for all that weight.

Thanks for the great tip I bought the maximum number (20 packs/units) and a few bits and pieces to get to £30 for FREE postage. I hope the paper is okay for my inkjet?

Just a minor point incidentally this website like many others charge VAT on postage when Royal Mail is zero rated. Postage costs should be added after VAT has been costed and not before.

Although the actual stamps part is zero rated, you have to charge VAT because post and packing is classed as a service by the VAT rules. It's a legal obligation.
If the items could pack themselves and toddle off to the post office unaided, then it wouldn't attract VAT but the action of providing packing materials, packing the items and then taking them there constitutes a service.

Redfox I think we agree, the postage costs are zero rated but packaging cost incur VAT. Therefore VAT is payable only if a packaging service is quoted.

Unfortunately not. I've just added a link to my previous post that shows how it is on the whole delivery charge.

Redfox thanks. I have checked out the link and it says you "may" have to pay VAT. I don't disagree with that statement, but I believe its down to how each company categorises it. If it is specified as postage costs (Royal Mail only) then it is zero rated. If on the other hand it is defined as P&P then it would incur VAT.

The 'may' is in relation to the fact that if the goods are not subject to VAT then you don't charge vat on the delivery charges, if there is VAT on the goods, VAT must be applied to delivery.

BTW good find, I am going to have a look now to see how much they charge to delivery to the middle of the sea :D
