Business plans
Hello everyone.
Hope someone can help. My husband had a couple of computers under a business plan, he had a heart attack last year followed by a triple bypass and is still unable to return to work. I dealt with all things financial and rang the company about our situation and agreed to return the computers. I understand they would expect the missed payments until the computers went back, but now it seems they've served default notices etc.
Any help please

And have you paid those missed payments yet? Did you agree any form of repayment plan and if so have you stuck to it?
You say it was a business, was it a Ltd company or a Sole Trader?0 -
It was a plan through PC World, you rent the computers for eighteen months then either return them or you can upgrade. The desktop we had had for about three years so that should just have been a straight return, the Apple Mac we had for about fifteen months so there was only three months to run. The man I spoke to ask me to write explaining the situation with copies of sick notes, doctor letters etc and wait to hear but he knew we couldn't pay that's when we got the default notice.

I would think it could take more than 3 months for a default notice to be issued - but not always. They wouldn't issue a default before you had defaulted, though, if you see what I mean?
I think you can discount the PC as being a problem, as you had paid more than the minimum required to send that back. Did you follow the correct return procedure outlined in the agreement? Did you get a letter back confirming you had surrendered the machine and agreement had ended?
The Mac is slightly different, but my suggestion would be to obtain the sick notes and doctors letters to send to PC World. Obviously explain your situation and that you had called to discuss etc. It might be possible for you to pay the 3 months outstanding and return the Mac as you will have technically paid up the minimum amount required to return it.
Hope it works out for you.0 -
Thanks for the replies, I know they received the computers because I sent them via a firm the man suggested and I have confirmation they were delivered. I wrote explaining our situation and sent copies of all sick notes doctors letters etc as he told me to then wait for their response which was a default notice and passed to another firm. I've rang them today I'm now waiting for their response. Again
