Giving Notice?

Did you not give a date or what you beleived would be your last day?

i.e. "Iam giving you 7 days notice making my last working day Friday Xth of July"

You should check your contract though as if it says 7 working days and you only give 7 calender days it may mean you haven't fulfilled your obligations to them.

EDIT - Doh! I just read you said you don't have a contract! If that's the case then really they aren't able to enforce any notice period on you. Although I would agree that 1 week is the minimum they can expect especially if you are paid weekly, which would be 7 calender days following the day of your notice.
