Time is my most precious resource, it's what I've got most of.
I don't understand. If you've got most of it (as I thought) why does that make it precious?
I am living hand to mouth, barely surviving on JSA (I have ZERO heating in the flat, money goes on food and the internet). My business ideas has great potential, but will not make ANY money in the short term.

So the moment I start my business, my benefits will change from JSA to Working Tax Credits, a short fall of £20 week.

That is the £20 a week I need to make up, just to get to the level of income equivalent of what I'm getting now.
Exactly as I thought. Which lead to the problem of the only thing holding you back was £20 a week.
Stupidest thing's I've heard in a long time (no offense)

This undervalues my time, and therefore my worth. My time would be better spent elsewhere.
Oh it takes more than that to offend me, don't worry. I'd rather people were honest with my suggestions.
Obviously if you can get this £20 a week by doing less than 20 hours a week then go for it. But if not, don't see this 20 hours work as only getting you £20 a week. See it as being what you need to do to get your business off the ground.
I'll find a part-time job to fund my start-ups costs, and just go for it.
    Brilliant.
A part time job would be a much better way of getting the money you need each week. Would only need 3 hours a week - much better than the 20 hours I suggested!
I was working on the basis of you being unemployable.

Oh as a by-the-way. Once I'm up and running, and have created a stash of useful articles for the many subjects my magazine covers, there is no reason why I can't expand outside of my own community. The Great News magazine could be appearing in a community near you. All the external articles that my community magazine pulls in, could be pulled in by other 'community' magazines, the only difference being, the actual 'community' content of the main magazine would change to reflect whats going on in that particular area.

All this, from an uneducated buffoon, my ex-wife would be proud :-)

If your doing something like this just remember people are naturally busy bodys. A dear aunt section won't go amiss about the local area, and think carefully about content & your target market.

Don't put stuff in just because you think its a good idea think about the target market you are aiming for.

Young adult with kids? Local children centers
    Retired? Gardening

    etc
People don't know what they want until you show them.

Some councils require that you obtain permission before running a business from your council house. One example is Waverley:

It will depend on the business. Many homes have restrictive covenants preventing business use, sometimes the mortgage provider will not allow business use, and many tenanted properties have a clause in the rental agreement prohibiting business use.

However a business which just involves the occupier, does not have people visiting, does not upset the neighbours would probably be OK, insofar as landlords, mortgage providers and imposers of covenants would not see this as detrimental usage.

But tenants should always check their tenancy agreements.
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales

Hello again Chameleon, I think I should explain my business model a little so you can better understand why I've chosen regular leaflet drops over placing an advert within parish magazines, and free-sheets etc

My business model in a nutshell:

I have created a digital magazine...

It sounds more like a hobby than a commercial enterprise.

What you have created is basically a blog.

Yes Ms Night Ryder, the magazine is free, as are the articles, as are many of the services I plan to provide, promoting local events (already talking with several puc/club owners now), the Weight Loss Challenge is also free.

I have two objectives for the next four months, build a readerships, and to make businesses aware of my existence.

    :-)
