    I met someone from Mansfield and moved here to be with him. You wouldn't believe the hoops I've had to jump through and the cash I've had to spend for various visas, citizenship test, and citizenship itself. Especially loved having to take the citizenship test given to me by someone who could hardly speak English. :)

    had the same thing happen to me..when I become a British Citizen but they got an interperter for them !!, btw I am from New Zealand (my family are from England..left here in 1862)...having to pay £90 to prove I could speak english..peved me off !! ohh and then had to give my allegiance to the queen...who BTW I fought for in Iraq when I was in the NZ army back in 1990...and is the Queen of NZ too !! ...I shot at people for her...ya would think they would kinda know I am for queen and country :)

    Doesn't it make you turn red to hear about the EU immigrants? Most people tell me they thought I got to be a British citizen just from marrying a Brit! :eek:

    Yep..I did not do it by marriage, for that one reason, I had been here for 10yrs so went down that route..
