how to lose weight with exercise and diet?

  • Have you got much to lose? I lose a bit just by tidying up my eating/exercise habits, but probably not as helpful if you have more than a stone or so to shift.

I find any exercise kicks my metabolism into getting going better than it has been. I have dogs and just up the walks and snack less. Sometimes my OH will take them instead/as well as but if I make sure I take them for a good 45 mins - an hour 6/7 days a week a fair few lbs drop off quite quick.

Before I eat things I think am I hungry? Or do I just want it? If you just want it then put it back. When I have sweets I take a few out the bag then do them up and put them away. 90% of the time I can't be bothered to get up off the sofa, go back to the cupboard and get more out! Ban yourself from eating in front of the telly. If you're like me you would rather watch TV than eat sometimes :o

Smaller portions at dinner too, go back and get seconds if you have to but don't overload on when dishing up.

I think its about retraining your mind into a new normal. Its easy to have too big a portion or not get out enough. Its a lifestyle change, not just for 6 months. You have to do it forever to keep it off which is why I like the type of things I do. They're easy to do and maintain. Even if you get a bit off trend its easy to get back on again.

Eat less of everything except vegetables.

    Run.

Buy some dumbells and look up exercises you can do with them on the internet.

Stay away from alcohol. I'm constantly amazed at how much people put away without even realising it. Any excuse for a drink appears to send them for the wine/beer/vodka bottle. Well considering they are just empty calories, that is how you get fat. Honestly add up the calories from drinking per week and then consider how long it would take to burn off by exercising.

Finally, pills do help you lose pounds but only of the financial type.

    How to lose weight fast
If you have 500 calories more than you eat every day for a week burns need to lose about 1-2 pounds.
If you want to lose weight quickly you need to eat less and exercise more .
For example , if you take in 1050-1200 calories a day and exercise for an hour a day, you can lose 3-5 pounds the first week , or more if you weigh over 250 pounds. It is important not to reduce the extra calories - that's dangerous.
Reducing salt , and starch can also mean the loss of weight in the first - but it is mostly liquid , not a fat .
"When you reduce sodium and cut starches , you reduce fluids and fluid retention, which can lead to 5 pounds of fluid loss when you started ," said Michael Dansinger, MD, of the NBC show The Biggest Loser.
    Fast weight loss diets

Dansinger recommends eating a diet that minimizes starches, added sugars and fats from meat and dairy products. For rapid weight loss , it is recommended to focus on fruits, vegetables , egg whites , soy products , skinless poultry breasts, fish, shellfish , dairy products, fats and 95% meat.

Here are some tips from Dawn Jackson Blatner, RD, author of The flexitarian diet:

Eating vegetables to help you feel full.
    Drink plenty of water .
    Take tempting food from home.
Stay busy - do not eat just because you are bored .
Eat only from a plate while sitting at a table . No bait in front of the " refrigerator.
    Do not skip meals .
Follow food diary - write down everything you eat - it can also help you stay on track.

" Even if you write it on a napkin and finally get rid of him , the act of writing to be responsible for himself and is very effective for weight loss ," says Bonnie Taub Dix , MA, RD, author read before eating .

In addition to writing down what you ate and when, you might consider how you felt just before you eat it. Were you angry , sad, or bored ? Often we focus so much on food and calories, but our emotions are a big part of our eating habits.

If you see a pattern of emotional eating , you might consider talking to a counselor about it. They can be very useful to find other ways to manage their emotions.
