Golden wedding anniversary - at home!

My beloved in-laws are racing towards their golden wedding anniversary & (after a family meal out at a pub for the 45th) are quietly very clear they do not want to leave their home to celebrate.
She cordially loathes cut flowers & he can barely walk so whatever we do has to fit into (& be tidied up out of) their sitting room.
Can anyone suggest other ways of celebrating 50 years of matrimony that don't involve leaving your living room?

Can all the family get together and bring buffet food with them and maybe a lovely decorated cake. Perhaps some gold balloons and bunting which all could be cleared away quickly and easily.
Perhaps you could get a wedding photo of them and put it in a gold frame and play some music from that time.
Just a few ideas good luck0 -
Could you do a powerpoint presentation linked into their TV? (maybe buy them a new TV?):heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0

This is similar to what we did for my gran and grandad's golden wedding - all the family came over, brought a plate of food, my mum made a cake and we covered the house in gold decorations and blown-up photos from all the way through their relationship. They absolutely loved it."A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge." - Tyrion LannisterMarried my best friend 1st November 2014Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")0 -
While we'd love to get the whole family in, just offspring & grandchildren will leave it at standing room only. The sheltered accom is designed to fit two with affection!
Balloons are very popular, and a gold framed wedding photo has a very good chance, even if the wedding was postponed three times as the Army kept posting the groom away...0 -
For family that couldn't fit in the house, is there someone with a video camera who could maybe film messages from them, put them on a DVD and then play that? If your in-laws don't have a DVD player perhaps someone could bring a laptop to play the DVD."A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge." - Tyrion LannisterMarried my best friend 1st November 2014Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")0
