Source a reputable roofing specialist who can repair any damaged parts of your roof. There are also tile storage yards in Northern Ireland where you can find the same aged roof tiles that will match up with the rest of the roof. Or alternatively change roof tiles around your roof, new ones hidden from view for example behind chimney breast. In terms of sealant products, there are unfortunately many products that don't last long. However these are usually the cheaper products that a lot of people tend to use. Check out Isonit products, they can be more expensive however they do stand over their products with as much as 15-20 year guarantees depending on what product you use. I still prefer pressure clean over brush clean, I have used both, brush cleaning doesn't come up as good as pressure cleaning. Also for a sealant to be used, you have to ensure there is complete removal of moss otherwise a sealant is useless. I think it comes down to, if you like the look of moss, then leave it. If not, have it restored.

one thing for the moss and grime is that in stormy weather less blow off. It almost glues them in place

I find that the birds are bring the moss off my roof at the minute it is old tiles on it
